Mental Health Awareness Week – what it means in education, and what we’re doing about it at The Learning Foundry

We’re supporting Mental Health Awareness Week, sharing with our learners, staff and community the ways they can work with us to boost mental wellbeing.

At The Learning Foundry, we’re passionate about creating an environment where our learners and staff can shine. That’s why we’re supporting Mental Health Awareness Week, because healthy learners are happier learners.

We’re supporting the NHS’ ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ – the steps they promote to improve mental health, increase positivity and help you get the most out of life. And guess what – you can do them all with us at The Learning Foundry!

Connect with others

On our programmes, we encourage teamwork and participation in group activities and discussion. Every learner is also given a designated Development Coach who is there to support them throughout their learner journey and beyond. Our learners form real connections with each other, and with their coaches.

Be active

Our courses are practical and work-based, designed to get you out and about, learning the skills you need along the way. Recently, some of our study programme learners headed to NCRC’s ‘Shaping Sustainable Futures’ residential trip, getting stuck in with physical activities like fire building and archery.

Give to others

The Learning Foundry are part of The Regenda Group, a regeneration organisation and every penny they make is put back into local good causes, such as Centre 56, a domestic abuse charity and nursery dedicated to supporting children and families in Liverpool who have experienced abuse or a crisis situation. Some of our team recently volunteered to collect donations at the Aintree Grand National.

Learn new skills

That’s what TLF is all about! Every course we do is designed with employers to give our communities the skills to get into in-demand careers. From construction to childcare, green energy to live music and events.

Be mindful

We want every person we work with to have the best time they can with us. Whether that’s getting all the support they can from one of our SEND specialists or just realising their full potential and all the doors that are open to them!

This year, we’ve transforming our campus windows to a display of how we are promoting all the ways to wellbeing on our campus. If you’re passing our campus, (4 Renshaw Street, L1 2SA) make sure you take a look – and you can always pop in and see our team, we’re always happy to see people on campus.

Or if you’d like to join part of the TLF family, check out all the courses we've got available, here!
