A place for opportunities and friendships – Millie and Chloe’s story

Chloe and Millie met on a study programmes earlier this year - and bonded from day one. Neither of them had an easy time at school and moved to study at The Learning Foundry.

Both Millie and Chloe found themselves lost after they finished school, and were recommended The Learning Foundry by careers advisors and councellours.

After attending an induction day at The Learning Foundry, Chloe and Millie both realised this was the place for them. The Learning Foundry adopt smaller class sizes and a campus designed to break traditional barriers between staff and learners – a place where everyone can thrive!

The girls met their coach, Jo, at the first induction day who continued to support them both throughout their time at TLF.

Chloe and Millie bonded on their induction day, and quickly realised that they would benefit from the same kind of support. They both accessed specialist support throughout their course, supporting them individually and together with issues including anxiety, autism and ADHD.

Millie has had an ADHD and Autism diagnosis since she was in Year 7. She didn’t enjoy her time at school and as a result left without any GCSEs. She found larger class sizes and colleges overwhelming which resulted in her spending prolonged periods of time out of education. When she came to The Learning Foundry, she felt confident that the staff could support her when she needed it.

At the end of her study programme, Millie gained her Functional Skills at Level 3 in both Maths and English.

Chloe joined us lacking confidence in herself and it has been amazing to see that confidence grow and grow during her time with us.

Chloe and Millie are both amazing examples of how you can achieve success even without getting the qualifications you wanted.

With the communication, teamwork and employability skills they learnt with us, both Millie and Chloe are continuing their journey together this September to study animal care with another local education provider. They have dreams of starting their own business together in animal care.

Well done Millie and Chloe!
