From Learner to our new Development Coach - Lizzie's story
I started as a learner at The Learning Foundry while I was working in the Customer Service Team at The Regenda Group. I signed up for do my Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 3 in Housing Practice and progressed to my CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing.
My Housing qualifications have been an important part of my career progress. In the Customer Service Team, I was promoted to Senior Customer Service Advisor. I then became the Training and Development Coordinator for the team before moving to a Data Analysis and Adaptions Officer role.
Working and studying can be a challenge but it’s absolutely worth it. I’ve noticed employers are looking for people with CIH qualifications – it's the way the sector seems to be going so I’d definitely encourage people to enrol.
Learning and development is important to me – I want to learn as much as I can. I’ve learned about team management, governance, finance and tenant engagement.
I’ve been at The Regenda Group for 5 years – it's a great place to work. There are so many opportunities for learning and development, and to progress within the business and across our subsidiaries.
I signed up for the LEAD Programme – Regenda's internal leadership development programme delivered by The Learning Foundry. From here I heard about all the Housing qualifications available to me and went from there.
I was involved in the people side of my previous training and development role so when the Development Coach role came up at The Learning Foundry it felt like a good move for me. I’ve been learning with them for pretty much the past five years and they’re a great team! I’ll be back to working with one of my old customer service colleagues – it’s nice to see so many staff progress within the Group.
It feels like I’ve come full circle as I’ve gone from learner to coach. In the role, I’ll deliver engaging and inspiring training programmes and I’ll be supporting and guiding current learners through their qualifications. I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge, meeting other housing professionals and supporting them on their career journey.
