Opening my eyes to new possibilities: Trish’s Story
Trish had spent four years working in housing when she started her Housing and Property Management course with The Learning Foundry. After gaining new responsibilities in her role, her employer chose The Learning Foundry as the provider to support Trish gain new skills.
As Trish reached the end of her programme, she shared her experience of what learning is like at TLF:
“My job role kept on expanding and I felt I needed to develop my skills and knowledge to be able to manage my new responsibilities.
“It was my employer that chose The Learning Foundry to deliver my training and the course was relevant and helpful for the work I do in my role.
“I use the skills I learnt to improve the service I provide to my customers. Gaining knowledge around the Chartered Institute of Housing Professional Standards has given me a useful reference to underpin my work on a day-to-day basis.
“There were challenges juggling learning and a full time job at the same time, finding cover while I did my sessions could be tricky.
“I’m proud of myself for completing the course (in good time!) and continuing working alongside it. I worked really hard and I am pleased with the results I got.
“Studying with The Learning Foundry has really helped me in my career. I’m now able to put what I’ve learnt into practice and support other people around me with what I’ve learnt.
“It’s got me thinking about what’s next. I’m not sure exactly what I want to do next, but the programme has helped me consider different possibilities.
“Studying with The Learning Foundry is really flexible. My coach really listened to me, always there to give me advice and guidance. She really cared about my wellbeing when things weren’t going so well. She helped me build my confidence.
“Tutors are great at communicating key concepts. When I think about my next steps, I’d definitely consider the next level of qualification with The Learning Foundry.”
Well done, Trish!
