My first month as Managing Director - Claire Lee
The first month in any job can be an intense experience. From first-day nerves and a new team, to getting up to speed and making an impact quickly, there’s a lot to get to grips with in a new company. We caught up with Claire Lee, Managing Director, to see how she’s settled in to her new role at The Learning Foundry.
Here's what she had to say:
I can’t quite believe it’s already been one month since I started in my new role, but on the other hand it feels like I’ve been here forever – in a good way!
I’ve joined an amazing team and it’s been a joy getting to know everyone. They’ve made me feel incredibly welcome and it’s been thanks to their knowledge and experience that I’ve been able to get up to speed quickly with everything that goes on.
What I’ve enjoyed most about my first month is meeting the many partners and connections we work with across the Liverpool City Region. From the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Culture Liverpool, Thrive and Future Yard, to Chasing The Stigma and The Big Trust – we work with some great organisations that want to improve lives and provide opportunities for people and businesses to thrive.
It’s an exciting time for The Learning Foundry because our team is growing. Our business is growing and we’re looking for new talent to help us support more learners and businesses with training and development.
It's about growing The Learning Foundry so we can make a difference to more people. I’ve had some very fruitful conversations about new programmes we can offer to fill local skills gaps and upskill people to step into employment. Watch this space for some exciting new programmes!
Being part of The Regenda Group is a wonderful thing because as a group of businesses we all work together towards one common goal. It’s about regenerating places and creating opportunities for people in our communities. The Group has touchpoints at every stage of people’s lives and for The Learning Foundry this helps us promote the idea of lifelong learning to people who might not think about accessing our programmes.
We’ve got lots coming up in the next month! A new programme of free short adult learning courses, our biggest ever employer networking event and we’re asking businesses to pledge opportunities to local people with our support to access funding.
It’s all about Making Talent Shine – whether it’s a young person taking their first steps into the world of work, an adult returning to the workforce after a career break, or a business looking to develop their next generation of talent.
We're always looking for people to join our growing team! Click here to find out about working for us, or call 0300 123 8088 for a chat about the latest opportunities for learning or working with us.
